Endermologie

Cellulite is the name given to the dimpling of the skin, often likened to orange peel.  It occurs in the subcutaneous layer – the layer of fat under the skin and is thought to be due to lifestyle and genetic factors.

The skin is attached to the deeper structures – the fascia – by fibrous structures called septa.  As the fat cells get bigger, they push upwards and cause the septa to tighten which creates the dimpling effect visible on the outer layer of skin.  As the cells get bigger lack of blood circulation results and this causes stagnation of metabolic waste and can lead to fibrosis.

Endermologie – LPG

This is a non surgical procedure which helps eliminate cellulite and assists in achieving visible improvement in body shape and skin tone.  It is the only FDA approved method to reduce cellulite. 

This treatment is best taken as a course of either 12 or 14 treatments and when taken in conjunction with a healthy regime of good eating and sensible exercise.  Ideally the course should be followed by monthly or two weekly maintenance treatments.
